What is Instant Calorie?

A calorie tracker for Indian food. Take a photo of your meal or type what you ate, and it splits the plate into items with calories, protein, carbs and fat for each. It also works out a daily plan for your goal and tracks your progress.

How accurate are the numbers?

They are AI estimates. Dishes are usually spotted correctly, while portions are judged from the photo, so a thick katori of dal or a ghee heavy paratha can be off. If something looks wrong, tell it in plain words and it recalculates.

Does it know Indian food?

That is what it is built for: dal, sabzi, roti, rice, dosa, idli, poha, paneer, chole, rajma and more. Portions come in the units you use, like 1 katori, 2 roti, 1 plate or 1 glass.

Do I have to take a photo?

No. You can pick a photo from your gallery, or just type what you ate, in English or Hinglish. "2 roti aur ek katori dal" works.

Does it work for vegetarian, Jain or vegan diets?

Yes. Set your diet during setup and the tips you get after each scan follow it.

Which phones does it work on?

Android phones on Android 10 or newer, through Google Play. An iPhone version is planned.

What happens to my photos and data?

Photos you scan go to our server only to work out the estimate and are not stored there. Photos you save with a meal stay on your phone. Your profile and food log are stored with Google Firebase in India. We do not show ads or sell your data. The privacy policy has the details.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, go to Settings and tap Delete account. Your account and data are removed straight away. You can also follow the steps on the delete account page.

Is this medical advice?

No. Instant Calorie gives estimates to help you track what you eat. Talk to a doctor or dietitian before making medical decisions about your diet.
